I found myself in the Design Essentials program after completing a History degree, wandering around Eastern Europe for a few months, and toiling away in coffee shops for far too long. I have enjoyed playing with art and design for as long as I can remember, and undertaking some formal theoretical and technical design training seemed like the logical next step.
I hope to eventually work in an environment that allows me to combine design with research and writing, and that allows me to work on projects that contribute something positive to people's lives. Visual communication, when used for purposes other than compelling people to buy things they don’t need, has incredible power to raise awareness, communicate ideas, and ultimately, connect people.
I draw inspiration from the troubled and beautiful world we live in, music, and people -- who never fail to surprise and are who are endlessly fascinating. That there is always something new to learn is what gets me out of bed in the morning. That -- and coffee!
