Jean, “Moby” Cabrera is an up and coming artist currently enrolled in the Digital animation program at BCIT. His exceptionally artistic drawing and design skills along with his newly acquired 3d software skills are his valuable tools that will help him gain entrance into the Animation and Video Game industry. Under the influence of his father who is a traditional 2d animator and storyboard artist, Jean’s career goal in life has always focused on his father’s profession. As an avid artist from a very young age, Jean always had a personal goal of striving to become the one who made the Saturday morning cartoons or the video games everyone was addicted to.
Jean’s excellent creativity and drawing talents are his strengths. He is a well rounded individual, able to create art digitally and traditionally. He is familiar with Photoshop CS3 as well as Alias Sketchbook and practices regularly on Maya and XSI. He enjoys sketching still life and creating characters. He is very independent and organized and a great leader in many situations.
Throughout his high school career Jean has always went the extra mile using his artistic abilities. He created billboards at school and many public banners for his community centers. He has received a subject award for Media Arts in grade ten and won the District Scholarship for excellence in Art in his Graduation year. Jean possesses many other skills including drafting and design, architecture, web design, creative writing and computer programming.
Jean has completed his demo reel and hopes to obtain a career in animation from his year at BCIT.
