Born in Hong Kong, Rachel Ng moved to Vancouver, British Columbia when she was at the age of four. Her creativity has always been a huge asset to her personality ever since she could pick up a pencil. She developed an interest in designing websites and creating graphics for her own leisure at a young age. Her hard work and determination to become a better artist has helped her make the decision to pursue graphic design as a career after high school.
In high school, she took part of the yearbook class and received the “Certificate of Special Merit” for helping to develop and design the school’s yearbook. She will be graduating from the New Media & Web Development program of British Columbia’s Institute of Technology in October and will receive a senior management certificate. Throughout the year of being at school, her familiarity with computer programs have broadened tremendously. Not only has the New Media program familiarized her with the computer programs needed to achieve in the industry, she has also learned to become a much more confident, and dependent person. The program has also helped her strengthened her time management and communication skills.
Rachel hopes to find work with a graphic design company; designing mainly print-based elements such as brochures, magazine ads, posters, etc. She is currently considering to return back to school to complete a degree in the field to further her skills in graphic design.
