Sonia Maria Lourdes Macalincag completed her Senior Management Certificate in New Media Design and Web Development at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Her immense interest in digital arts led her to develop the skills necessary to create visually rich media. She is strong in Adobe: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Dreamweaver; and is familiar with Adobe Flash, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, DVD Studio
Pro, and JavaScript.
Sonia is a demonstrated achiever with many years of successful experience in management, banking, and finance. She was given Outstanding Performance Awards in 2006 by a previous employer, Banco De Oro Universal Bank, which is one of the largest banks in the Philippines; and was the recipient of the Apple Canada, Inc. Entrance Award in 2007 at BCIT.
While Sonia was completing her studies at BCIT, she also worked as an Independent Contractor (part-time) for Academic Advantage Educational Services, Inc. Prior to BCIT, Sonia was a bank officer (Manager), at Banco De Oro Universal Bank, in charge of several big corporate accounts. She was also connected with other banks before Banco De Oro Universal Bank.
Sonia has Master of Business Administration degree from University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from the University of the Philippines.
Currently based in British Columbia, Canada, Sonia plans to pursue a career in web design, print or graphic design, visual effects, and related fields. She would like to use and enhance her skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. She is flexible, enthusiastic to learn new things, and welcomes challenges.
